Hockey, concerts, theater coming to the Nassau Coliseum this October

Though the New York Islanders call the Nassau Coliseum home, several other entertainers will be making overnight stays there this fall.

Kicking off the concerts in October is Slayer, Megadeth and Testament with the American Carnage Tour on Oct. 8. Slayer continues to tour in support of their tenth studio album, World Painted Blood, which was released in November 2009, while Megadeth is playing from their September 2009 album, Endgame.

On Oct. 12 and 13, Roger Waters is coming to the Nassau Coliseum for a special two-night performance of The Wall Live. The former Pink Floyd frontman is taking hits from their 1979 album and bringing them back to the stage, along with a portable wall that gets de-constructed as the concert progresses.

The Coliseum is also home to Tyler Perry’s latest play, Madea’s Big Happy Family, on Oct. 14 and So You Think You Can Dance on Oct. 15.

Wrapping up the October concert circuit is Muse on Oct. 23. They continue to tour in support of their September 2009 album The Resistance.
